Navy Day celebrations: 'Beating the Retreat' ceremony at Gateway of India
Mumbai, Dec 04 (ANI): 'Beating the Retreat' ceremony of the Navy Day celebrations is underway at Gateway of India in Mumbai on Sunday. Navy Day is observed on December 4 every year to commemorate the sinking of Pakistan Naval Ship "PNS Ghaz" and India's victory over Pakistan in the 1971 engagement. Thousands of people thronged at the Gateway of India to witness the celebrations. This year, around 24 ships and 17 aircraft are participating in the demonstration to showcase the naval capabilities.
