Martyr SP Baljeet Singh who lost his life in Gurdaspur Attack cremated
Kapurthala, July 29 (ANI): The last rites of martyr SP Baljit Singh who died during the Gurdaspur terror attack were held on Wednesday in Kapurthala, Punjab. Punjab DGP Sumedh Singh Saini attended the cremation ceremony and paid homage to late Baljeet Singh. Earlier in the day, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal paid his last respects to late Baljeet Singh. Badal also met Singh's family members and assured them of all support. Singh's family had earlier refused to cremate him till the state government handed over appointment letters of SP rank to his son and post of tehsildar to his daughters. Police overcame three gunmen dressed in military fatigues on Monday after a 12-hour battle that ended in Gurdaspur police station. Punjab police killed three unidentified assailants who had pulled up at the police complex in a stolen car with automatic weapons blazing.
