MP train tragedy: Railway Chairman says sudden flash floods led to the mishap
New Delhi, Aug 05 (ANI): The Chairman of Railway Board, AK Mittal, said that sudden flash floods had led to the derailment of twin trains in Madhya Pradesh. Mittal said that, 10 minutes before the incident, trains had passed safely on the spot but it appears that sudden flash floods in these 10 minutes cut a portion of earth beneath it causing derailment of the train. He said that all passengers have been rescued and those with minor injuries were provided with first aid. He added that all passengers have been moved safely to Itarsi. Mittal also said that the passengers will be taken to the destination locations via special trains from Itarsi. He also added that investigation will be held in the incident.
