Jayalalithaa takes charge as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu

Chennai, May 24 (ANI): Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa took charge as the Chief Minister of the state and began work from the Secretariat on Sunday. Jayalalithaa also announced five new schemes which include a housing project for poor families. Other noteworthy announcements made by Jayalalithaa includes a Rs 100 crore job plan for families headed by women, and a Rs 1800 crore road development project. AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa on Saturday took oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for a fifth time at a function organised at the Madras University Centenary Hall amid tight security arrangements. State Governor K Rosaiah administered the oath of office and secrecy to Jayalalithaa, along with 28 ministers who will form her Cabinet.
