Indian Man Chases Fame With A $250,000 Shirt Made Of Gold

Pune, May 3 (ANI): An Indian man has got one of the most expensive shirts in the world made of gold at a staggering $250,000 to fulfill his twin obsessions of gold and fame. The 32-year-old moneylender Datta Phuge, from the western Indian city of Pune, ordered the golden shirt, which took a team of 15 goldsmiths working 16 hours per day, two weeks to create after some very intricate, weaving and knitting of the gold threads. A jeweler Tejpal Ranka has designed the shirt for Phuge who says that he always wanted to do something, which would make him famous across the country and get his name into record books. The shirt comes complete with its own matching cuffs and a set of rings also crafted from gold. The gaudy shirt has been assembled on a fabric base of imported white velvet, and comes with six Swarovski crystal buttons and an intricate belt, all made up of gold. Indians are known for their love of gold and country is the biggest importer of gold in the world.
