India to ratify decisions taken at Conference of Parties on October 2

Kozhikode (Kerala), Sep 25 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday announced that India will ratify the decisions made during the Conference of Parties (CoP) protocol on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary on October 2. Asserting that Mahatma Gandhi spent his life in an environment of minimum carbon footprints, the Prime Minister called the former’s birth anniversary appropriate occasion to begin the ratification process. PM Modi was addressing a gathering at the last day of the BJP National Council Meeting in Kerala’s Kozhikode. In the UN climate change conference in Paris, 195 countries adopted a climate deal that sets out a global action plan to lower the global warming by 2 degrees Celsius. The Kozhikode event marked the centenary celebrations of former Jan Sangh leader Deendayal Upadhyaya.
