Govt decides to implement OROP, personnel taking voluntary retirement not included
New Delhi, Sep 05 (ANI): Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Saturday announced that the government has decided to implement One Rank One Pension scheme. Parrikar said that the previous governments remained indifferent in the issue of OROP adding that there was no proper fund allotment which is why it took a long time for the government to implement it. He said that the PM Narendra Modi has been firm on his promise and today it has been implemented. He stated that the OROP will be implemented from July 01, 2014 onwards. Parrikar further said that the personnel taking voluntary retirement will not be included. The Defence Minister also said that a one member judicial committee will be constituted to submit its report in six months. He said that the pension would be revised every five years.
