Farmers upset with price drop, throw tons of tomatoes on roads
Jashpur, Chhattisgarh, Dec 08 (ANI): There has been a bumper production of tomatoes this year. However, the farmers in Chhattisgarh's Jashpur have thrown tons of tomatoes on road because of the sudden price drop. Disappointed by the low prices offered to them for their crops, the farmers demonstrated agitation. To add to their woes, they could not even take out the cost of transporting the crops back to their home from the market. To evade the cost of transportation, they threw the tomatoes on roads.
