Farmers in MP stay in neck-deep water protesting dam's water level
Khandwa, May 06 (ANI): Farmers, who have been standing neck-deep in a river for the past 25 days to protest the raised level of Omkareshwar dam in Madhya Pradesh threatened to commit suicide if their demands were not met. About 30 farmers have been sitting knee-deep in a river in Gogalgaon village in Khandwa district to protest against the level of Omkareshwar dam which was increased to 191 meters from the original 189 meters. Some of the protesters have started developing fungal infections on their skin. Almost all the protesters have developed skin infections as they remain in continuous contact of water.
