Deceased Shahjahanpur journalist's family moves SC demanding CBI enquiry in murder case
Shahjahanpur, July 04 (ANI): The family members of Shahjahanpur-based journalist Jagendra Singh, who was allegedly killed by state minister Rammurti Singh Verma's henchmen and some police official, moved the Supreme Court on the case. The family demanded the SC to order a CBI enquiry in the case. Jagendra Singh’s son Rahul Singh said that state Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav had assured of a free and fair investigation, but the district administration is not doing anything in the case. Jagendra was reportedly set ablaze by Verma's henchmen on June 1. Singh succumbed to his burn injuries in a Lucknow hospital a week later.
