Chinkara poaching case: Rajasthan Govt. to challenge Salman's acquittal in SC

New Delhi, Oct 19 (ANI): Actor Salman Khan's legal troubles show no signs of ending, as the Rajasthan government has filed an appeal in the Supreme Court against his acquittal in two separate cases of chinkara poaching. It may be recalled that the Jodhpur bench of the Rajasthan High Court had on July 25 this year acquitted Salman Khan of killing two chinkaras in separate incidents in 1998. Rajasthan Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rajendra Rathore told media, "The government is studying the merits and demerits of the case and has decided to appeal against the decision in the Supreme Court." Two separate cases were registered against the 'Kick' actor under Section 51 of the Wildlife Protection Act for poaching two chinkara on September 26-27, 1998 and one in Mathania (Ghoda Farm) on September 28-29, 1998.
