A youth from Karnataka launched an online discount broking company
Karnataka, July 1 (ANI): Nithin Kamath, a young entrepreneur from Karnataka, launched India's first online discount broking company, Zerodha. An online trading platform designed to allow active traders to buy and sell financial instruments such as stocks with bare minimum charges. Zerodha was founded in 2010 by Nithin Kamath with the goal of breaking all barriers that traders and investors face in India. Though his first investment was a mere Rs. 500, today Nithin Kamath is the winner of "Emerging Entrepreneur Award" for 2013 conferred by the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII). Zerodha is a Bangalore-based financial services company which charges a meagre 20 rupees per trade instead of the brokerage charges on the total traded value, which is a normal practice.
