PANNEERSELVAM RESIGNS AS TAMIL NADU CM, JAYA TO TAKE OVER
O. Pannerselvam, who took over as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister after J Jayalalithaa was convicted in a disproportionate assets case, has resigned following her acquittal in the case by Karnataka High Court. Jaya was unanimously elected legislature party leader setting the stage for the 67-year-old to return as the chief minister of Tamil Nadu again. Pannerselvam has earlier expressed his will to resign as soon as Jaya is acquitted.
