Rahul Gandhi accuses BJP of favouritism

Maylavaram (Andhra Pradesh), Fri, 10 Apr 2009 ANI

Maylavaram (Andhra Pradesh), Apr 10 (ANI): Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi on Friday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of practicing favouritism, saying the saffron party did not believe in taking everybody with it.

"We believe that the weakest person in India needs the most help from the government. The BJP, on the other hand, believes that some parts of India can move forward while the rest of India can be left behind. It believes in favouring one group or the other group. The BJP does not believe in taking everybody with it," Gandhi said while addressing an election rally here.

Gandhi said that unlike the BJP, the Congress believed in providing the maximum support to the weakest person.

Andhra Pradesh is getting ready for the first phase of polling on April 16.

The Congress leader is scheduled to address various rallies across the Andhra Pradesh on Friday and Saturday. (ANI)
