Wake up voter, says poll panel through posters

Ranchi, April 8 (IANS) Through posters and banners put up at several places, the Election Commission has launched an awareness programme in Jharkhand, urging voters to go out and exercise their right to vote.

 

'Wake up voter, Wake up. Voting is your right and you must exercise your right,' says one poster,

 

 

A second reads: 'Our motive to ensure peaceful and impartial elections in a healthy environment.'

 

 

'The Election Commission's work is diversified. Besides conducting elections, it is also our duty to promote voters to exercise their voting rights. The banners and posters have been put up in urban to rural areas so that voters understand their right,' an Election Commission official told IANS here.

 

 

Jharkhand goes to polls April 16 and 23.
