Patna zoo has a new baby rhino
Patna, Apr 8 (ANI): A rhinoceros at Patna's Sanjay Gandhi Biological Park gave birth to a female calf raising their number to a dozen.
" With this, total count of rhinoceros in the zoo raises to 12. Out of which, 7 are female and 5 male. The birth of the calf has brought immense happiness to the zoo authorities", said Subhash Verma, director at the zoo.
According to zoo officials, both the mother and child are in a healthy condition.
The news has spread a wave of happiness among the zoo employees. It will attract lot of visitors, especially women and children to the zoo.
This is the sixth baby of the mother rhinoceros called 'Hartali'. She has given birth to maximum baby hippos in the zoo. Hartali was herself born at the zoo premises in 1988.
The baby calf is not named yet. But, zoo officials say they will soon decide the name. (ANI)
