BSP releases candidates' list for UP
Bahujan Samaj Party Supremo and UP Chief Minister Mayawati released a list of candidates for all 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh on Friday and announced to begin a nationwide election campaign from Saturday.
Releasing a list of candidates for India’s largest state in terms of Lok Sabha seats, Mayawati said at a press conference in Lucknow that she is going to begin her party’s national campaign from Kerala with a rally in Thiruvananthapuram. The non-stop campaign would come to an end on May 11, she added.
Despite indulging in busy campaigning, she would take care of her official duties as she said, “I will always return to the state after campaigning. I will not neglect the Uttar Pradesh Government.”
Moreover, BSP chief also released party's ‘special appeal’ to the voters in UP in which she appealed to the electorates to cast their votes for BSP on the basis of those certain issues which she had raised.
“In the special appeal, I have raised certain issues and I urge them to vote for BSP based on those issues,” she said.
Assuring to conduct free and fair elections across the state, the UP chief minister said: “Unlike the earlier state governments, we would not allow any unwanted elements to capture booths or disrupt elections. We will ensure that people of all religions, castes, and community are allowed to vote.”
The list of party candidates for rest of the country would be released in four-five days, BSP officials informed reporters.
