New Delhi, March 18 (IANS) Want to watch your favourite TV serial or news programme while on the move? It is no longer a dream, thanks to Entriq, a new business solution launched by digital content solution provider Irdeto.

The Amsterdam-based company said Entriq would enable customers around the world to view most of the Indian TV programmes on their cell phones and personal computers (PC).

'The idea is to take the television content to new platforms - mobile and personal computers,' Irdeto India country manager and head of South Asia operations Sanjiv Kainth told IANS here Wednesday.

Indian broadcasters can now tie up with Irdeto and telecom operators to roll out these services.

'The technology is available through two networks - broadcasters and telcos,' Kainth said.

'Moreover, it is making illegal downloading of content legal with due government approval,' he added.

Though most of the TV shows, including serials, news programmes and cricket matches, will be available on cell phones, there will not be any pornographic content, Kainth said.

Also, the user cannot record the programmes and will have to watch them when they are aired by the broadcaster.

Kainth said the company was already in advance discussions with a leading content provider in India for launching its services abroad and has also completed a soft launch.

A pioneer in pay TV industry and global leader in conditional access (CA), Irdeto has rapidly expanded its portfolio to provide additional capabilities such as digital rights management, business support systems and set-top box software solutions to more than 500 customers worldwide.

The company has tied up with Videocon to provide end-to-end solutions for its direct-to-home (DTH) services D2H, which will be launched in April this year.
