Nawanshahr (Punjab), Feb.20 (ANI): Popularly known to music lovers in different parts of the world as Jazzy B, he has successfully made Punjabi music known to people living thousands of miles away from Punjab and overwhelmed their hearts with his distinct style.

Born in Nawanshahr, Jaswinder Singh Bains has risen to be recognised as a stylish musician with an amazing range and depth of vocals among a huge number of fans.

Jaswinder Singh Bains or Jazzy B, is today the best-selling Bhangra artist who has helped bring the genre to the forefront of the Indian music scene.

Recalling his formative years, Jazzy remembers how he always used to wear different dresses to look distinct among children of his age. During my school days, I used to dress differently to stand out. I believe in myself. I want myself to look different in a crowd of thousands. I have my own style. I would like to thank God that people have started copying my style. I like to present myself as original as I am original, that's it," said Jazzy B, the Punjabi pop singer.

Jazzy tells that these days a lot of youngsters belonging to prosperous families are coming up to showcase their talent in music world. A number of singers are coming up these days as it has become easy for them to launch themselves as a singer. They have lots of money. Today, everybody tries their luck in singing but very few survive in the long run. The ones who last, achieve success. I do want to say this to everyone out there, don't use pirated CD's because it's killing our music, singers and the music companies, and buy only the original," said Jazzy.

"Punjabi music is gaining popularity all across the world. People like Hindi film's songs also. But be it England, America, Canada, Paris or elsewhere, you will find Punjabi music playing in clubs. Punjabi music is in great demand and also through these Punjabi songs, those staying abroad have started speaking Punjabi," Jazzy B added.

The popular singer and heartthrob advocates Punjabi's familiarity among youngsters besides the national language-Hindi.

"Indian people, living in foreign countries, love to watch videos featuring villages of Punjab, as they don't get that atmosphere there. They are more connected to Punjabi culture. I don't say that we should not speak Hindi but we should make our children learn our mother tongue also," says Jazzy B, Punjabi pop singer. By Karan Kapoor(ANI)
