Aug 14: Now its time for BJP to take the heat as former minister for home and suspended BJP MLA Gordhan Zadaphiya in a television interview to a private channel took moral responsibility of the post-Godhra communal riot.

Gordhan Zadaphiya is one of the five MLAs who were suspended for anti-party activities last month. The rebel BJP MLAs and former chief minister and ace rival of Modi, Keshu Bhai Patel since then have been quite critical about Narendra Modi. This is the result that Zadaphiya comes out openly against the present chief minister citing the Godhra Riot (2002).

Gordhan was one of the closest and the then minister for home under Modi government when the unfortunate incident of 2002 took place. He now takes the responsibility of mass killing equally with Narendra Modi as was a part of the government. However, he only says that he was only executing Modi’s order as a constitutional duty.

Following Sabarmati train carnage in the year 2002 the Gujarat government led by Chief Minister Modi since then under criticism for its active role in the riot. Hundreds of people killed and injured in one of the most horrible communal riot between Hindus and Muslims.

The ruling Narendra Modi government who is a hardliner under the banner of his only state agenda “Hindutva” made it clear just after the riot that it was a reaction of the Sabarmati train attack in which 58 Hindu pilgrimage born to death by Muslims.

Thereafter the whole international and national media along with human right organisation conducted several ground survey and research that visibly indicated administrations’ irresponsible and late response to the communal feeling that ended in a black spot in Indian history.

Again one can not be bias towards Hindus and their sentiments attached to the Sabarmati train burning incident, what the real question that comes to everyone’s mind is the administration’s role in the whole incident. Modi government’s late response led to a large-scale life and property loss.

Meanwhile the dissident’s activity with BJP is getting bigger and bigger that came into light in the recent presidential election in which some of party MLAs and MPs voted for the UPA-Left nominee Pratibha Patil. Well, after the confession of the former minister on their role in Godhra riot let’s see where the Justice Nanavati Commission is heading as Zadaphiya’s name was also in the list of politicians as named by the witnesses.
