Mangalore pub attack: Yeddyurappa slams Chowdhury for false allegations

Gulbarga, Mon, 09 Feb 2009 ANI

Gulbarga, Feb.9, (ANI): Karnataka Chief Minister B. S. Yeddyurappa on Monday slammed Union Minister for Women and Child Development Renuka Chowdhury for her baseless charges against the State Government.

Yeddyurappa said he would request Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh to rein in Union Minster, who has been making false allegations against his government.

"Without verifying the facts, Renuka Chowdhury has been making false allegations against my government I will request the Prime Minister to advise her in this regard," Yeddyurappa said.

He also condemned the kidnap case of Kerala MLA C. H. Kunhambu's daughter Shruti.

The Chief Minister cleared the air about the kidnappers and said, "Of the five arrested in connection with the Shruti abduction case, investigations had revealed that two of them belonged to the CPM and the others were Congress activists."

Renuka Chowdhury had earlier criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party Government in Karnataka for the Mangalore incident, and said there was a breakdown of law and order in the state.

She also warned the State Government that all instruments of democracy would be used to stop such incidents.

Last week, Shruti and her boyfriend were kidnapped and beaten up by a radical outfit. (ANI)
