Patna, Feb 4 (ANI): Shutdown call given by the three Left parties here today in protest against the non-implementation of the recommendations of the sixth pay commission paralysed normal life in Bihar.

The three Left parties namely the Communist Party of India (CPI), the Communist Party of India- Marxist (CPM) and the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) CPI (ML) jointly staged a protest to support the cause of thetriking employees.

Pradeep Jha, member of the CPI said that the bone of contention between the government and employees has been non-implementation of the Sixth Pay Commission recommendations.

" The Sixth Pay Commission which has been implemented across the country has not been implemented in Bihar that is why a big chunk of government employees and teachers are on a strike for the past one month." He added.

Officials from the administration said that the protestors were stopped from marching towards the Government House.

"The protestors wanted to block the Government House in Patna but the administration was alert. The protestors were packed in a bus and sent to a camp," said Ravi Ranjan, Sub-Divisional officer law and order, Patna. (ANI)
