Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty buys 12 percent stake in Rajasthan Royals
Mumbai, Feb 3, (ANI): Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty on Tuesday became the third celebrity after Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta to invest in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Shilpa Shetty bought a twelve percent stake in the Rajasthan Royals.
She will invest 15.4 million dollars in the team with her London-based businessman partner Raj Kundra.
Rajasthan Royals owner Manoj Badale has confirmed reports of Shetty buying a stake.
Shilpa said she would have a role in the team's promotional activities this year.
Shilpa called it a strategic business investment, while her partner Kundra said he was inspired by the team's success story last year.
Rajasthan Royals, led by former Australian spinner Shane Warne, won the last IPL tournament. (ANI)
