Washington, January 26 (ANI): David Bowie is reportedly being approached to reprise his legendary Ziggy Stardust persona for an exclusive headline performance at a U.S. music festival.
The 62-year-old musician had abandoned his theatrical rock star ego in 1973, alleging that the character, which went on to become a rage, came in the way of his creativity.
And Bowie, who is presently working on a new album, was reportedly lending an ear to the organisers of this year's Coachella event in California over a one-off appearance.
"Coachella tried to book Bowie last year and he refused, so they got Prince to headline instead," Contactmusic quoted a source as telling British newspaper the Daily Star.
"But there's a very strong chance they will be able to persuade him this year," the source added. (ANI)
