Aug 09: Love is a feeling, term, a response which immediately draws the attention of human being. Since human being came on earth ‘Love’ has been defined in hundreds and thousands of ways.

Love occupied its eminent place in almost every literature and has been celebrated and glorified since ages.

But recent research shows that tosses of love deteriorate the health. The fluctuations and ups and downs of love relationship can have direct impact on health of a person and can cause long term damages to the human body.

Research conducted at Imperial College London has revealed that falling in love evokes various physical reactions in body which can harm health.

Prof. Martin Cowie of Imperial College told that when in love body constantly undergoes a roller coaster of emotions which has a direct bearing on our physique. Pupils can dilate, palms start sweating and heart beat also increases. Due to all this adrenaline is secreted in large amounts creating problems to body.

The risk becomes high when we don’t accept that emotions are affecting our health.

In their research they monitored the emotions and the effect on newly widowed men which showed 50% higher risk of heart problems.

In spite of its age old glory scientists in last decade has revealed its negative aspects too.

A research by University College in London, published in ‘NeuroImage’ said that love renders those areas of brain deficient in alertness which control critical thought.

This feeling considered very positive till yet, actually deactivates the neural network associated with critical social assessment of other people. This may be the reason that those in love fail to see the very apparent faults of their beloved ones.

This is the case not just with romantic love but maternal love has the same effect, research said.

Don’t get scared and it would be very hasty to form a negative opinion about ‘love’. There was another research in 2001 which said that who feel love and get its response they live longer, happier and have better health. People in love have better life expectancy and live a healthy life-style.

Let’s wait till next research bringing some good aspect of love to the fore and be a little bit careful when falling in love.
