Lucknow, Jan 14 (IANS) A Samajwadi Party MP has been accused of illegally occupying a public property here and threatening those opposing the encroachment, police said Wednesday.
The police were on the lookout for MP Brij Bhushan Singh, an official said.
'We have launched a search operation for the parliamentarian,' deputy superintendent of police S.C. Dubey told IANS.
Singh has allegedly encroached a government park in Lakshmanpuri locality here, and issued life threats to members of the residents' welfare society of the area.
'We have arrested three of Singh's supporters,' said Dubey.
According to the police, the Lakshmanpuri residents' welfare society registered a case against Singh Tuesday.
Singh, an MP from Balrampur in Uttar Pradesh, was earlier with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
