Chandigarh, Jan 11 (IANS) The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) will organise a monthlong foot march in Haryana to protest against the ruling Congress government in the state.

'We will start our 30 day padyatra (foot march) on January 14 and culminate it on February 12. This is our medium to protest against the anomalies of the present government and educate the masses about their corrupt activities,' INLD secretary general Ajay Chautala said here Sunday.

The party will organise an over 600-km foot march starting from the Mohindergarh district of Haryana and will end in Chandigarh.

'We will cover 11 districts, 40 Vidhan Sabha (assembly) constituencies and 662 villages during our march. We will cover a distance of over 600 km and thousands of people from every community are expected to participate in our protest march,' he said.

He said many senior leaders of Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP), invited for the march, have confirmed their participation.

'There is mayhem prevailing in the state. Police is engaging in fake encounters, killing innocent people and indulging in various corrupt activities. The government is also busy in accumulating money by grabbing poor farmers' land, imposing new and increased taxes,' said Ajay Chautala, son of former Haryana chief minister Om Prakash Chautala.
