BJP will not support any party in Jammu and Kashmir: Naqvi

National,Politics, Sun, 28 Dec 2008 IANS

New Delhi, Dec 28 (IANS) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Sunday said it would not support any party to form the government in Jammu and Kashmir due to 'ideological differences' with them.

'There is no question of supporting either the Congress or Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) or the National Conference in Jammu and Kashmir,' BJP vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said as the state headed for another hung legislative assembly.

Naqvi said the results were 'in accordance with the party's clear-cut plan'. Refusing to align with other parties, Naqvi said: 'There are lots of ideological differences with them as they all are directly or indirectly supporting the terrorists.'

The BJP has won 11 seats in Jammu region. In 2002, the party had won only one seat.

Senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley said: 'Our ideological differences with the PDP and the National Conference are so strong that I do not see a possibility of going to them and forming a government.'
