July 25: Following the approval of the draft of indo-US nuclear deal by cabinet committee of political affairs and cabinet committee on security on Wednesday, the deal is almost near to its operationalization. The deal will be discussed on the first day of monsoon session of parliament scheduled to begin on August 10.

Defence minister Pranab Mukherjee told that the government will hold the talks with all the opposition parties.

All the senior colleagues of prime minister attended the meeting to have an evaluation of the draft before laying it before parliament in the monsoon session.

Defence minister also told that all the concerns have been addressed in the agreement.

This break-through was achieved by the security adviser M K Narayanan who headed the negotiations with Washington to solve the conflicting issues of the agreement, reprocessing of the spent fuel and the supply of nuclear fuel.

Consensus was reached on the civil nuclear deal after rigorous and intense discussions were held by foreign secretary of India and under secretary of state of US addressing the concerns of both the parties.

The right to reprocess the spent fuel was agreed to by US when India accepted the observation of UN agency IAEA for a national facility.

After deciding on the text both parties decided to refer the draft to their governments for the final stamp of approval

The draft 123 agreement is supposed to address major concerns o f India regarding reprocessing spent fuel and fall back safeguards and continuous supply of nuclear fuel without any hurdle of any kind.

Some in India oppose the deal as it is considered to endorse US interests in South Asia and see the agreement as a blow to independence of the foreign policy of India.

Independent and progressive India is good for all in the long run...the power dealers need to clearly understand this. India is the most balanced country [politically and religiously...if you let the local people sort things out]. We are ahead of the West in many such aspects...but have lost a lot of such high level of undertanding.

As far as the nuclear deal is concerned, internal research efforts to progress in Thorium fuels need to be further supported and hastened...this deal should not [directly or indirectly through market mechanisms, political manipulations, and lobying] hurt the internal research - funds and efforts.

India must be on it's own if it wants to look out for its interests [which are just keeping the country together and ensuring other countries do not take it for a long economic ride....given the depth of our political talent!].

Moreover, we need to develop and think more strategically, be open on issues, but consider options from many angles. That does require some forethought, which implies highly educated and balanced decision makers....something India lacks in many areas, not just politics...

Are we prepared to deal with 'self interested, powerful[use/throw inclusive], militarily powerful countries who have historically left no stone unturned to ensure their power is retained [enslaved and killed men and animals, forced coversion from an open minded religious framework to narrow brands of agend-heavy 'religions', etc.]....??? These powerful nations have and actively now playing games across the world where a lot of -ve forces are being employed to achieve thier short term material interests...this behavior is a norm for them...that is what they understand to be justified!

Hope the technocrats and the politicians have had a good look at the nuclear deal and are not selling the nation [hope they have asked: do we really need this deal? What are real alternatives? and How can be increase our leverage before signing/starting to negotiate anything?], as per their usual practice

knowing our history...why just blame Sonia for our losses...although she is playing her part to inflict damage and plans to leave no fingerprint while she is at it.

Again,....only God can save India...hope S/He is around for a long time...for we will need His/Her help always...thanks to our elected [?], greedy, and downright filthy politicians [a large chunk] who do not understand a word about Character...

Long live the nation of open, patient, thinking people, and the land of innumerable saints....
