Nikon India strengthens Top Management

New Delhi, Dec 24 (ANI/Business Wire India): Nikon India, the 100 per cent subsidiary of Nikon Corporation, today said that it was giving a facelift to the organizational structure as part of its aggressive growth strategy targeting two fold growth by 2009.

 

To substantiate the above statement, there have been some key new appointments within the company in the recent times.

 

Hiroshi Takashina has joined as the Division General Manager (Imaging Division), Mr. Sajjan Kumar as General Manager, Sales and Marketing, Jitender Chugh as National Sales Manager and Khushraho Kapadia, Senior Marketing Manager.

 

All 4 professionals with their combined expertise and experiences would be assisting Managing Director Hidehiko Tanaka. In addition, Nikon has also appointed Regional Sales Managers and several more executives. Creating focused vertical responsibilities to boost targeted growth strategies.

 

Announcing the organizational changes, Hidehiko Tanaka, Managing Director, Nikon India said, "These senior appointments reflect Nikon's commitment to the Indian market and our interest to promote the photography culture in the country. Their expertise will play a vital role in scaling our presence across India and driving growth for the company. We are confident that the new top management will take the brand to new heights."

 

"Nikon's focus for the year 2009 would be expansion of its offices thus strengthening Nikon's brand and organization's standing in the Indian market. Nikon further accentuates Channel Development, targeting 800 retail outlets for In store Branding and more than 200 In shop Promoters in order to facilitate sales for channel network", added Tanaka.

 

2008 saw Nikon India establish its branch office in Mumbai and an upcoming centre in Kolkata which would be followed by another office in a metropolitan in Southern India in 2009 Nikon has established 5 new Authorized Service Centres this year, taking the total to 10 while 3 more are in the pipeline. The company has its own service facility located in Gurgaon , Mumbai and Kolkata.

 

The Nikon service facility at Gurgaon has been developed with state of the art equipment on the lines of the facility in Japan.

 

Nikon also launched 18 incredible cameras for both casual and professional users. To promote these cameras amongst its consumer group, Nikon plugged itself with two key interest areas - 'sports' by sponsoring various cricket series and 'fashion' through an association with the Lakme Fashion Week (Spring Summer 09).

 

Nikon aims to be a solution provider and to provide photographers what they need in the most simple user friendly manner. The company also feels that it is critical to educate consumers and reach out to them in order to make the photography culture pervade in India. To drive this forward, Nikon conducted many photography workshops across India in 2008 educating photography enthusiasts on latest camera technologies and plans to continue doing so in 2009.
