Panaji, Dec 22 (IANS) Union Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal will in Goa on the eve of Christmas for an internal security review meeting with top state government official, police sources said.

Jaiswal's arrival in Goa to take stock of the security scenario here, assumes significance amid intelligence inputs about a possible Al Qaeda terror strike in the coastal state.

Jaiswal is expected to land in Goa from Mumbai Wednesday and will be accompanied by senior officials who will compare notes with the state government on the security arrangements for the Christmas.

The internal security review meeting will also be attended by Chief Minister Digambar Kamat, chief secretary J.P. Singh and the Director General of Police B.S. Brar.

Jaiswal will spend Christmas Eve in Goa, before departing for Delhi Dec 25.

Goa attracts nearly 300,000 foreign tourists each year. The Nov 26 terror strikes in Mumbai, where armed terrorists specifically targeted foreigners, has led to the security being beefed up in all the coastal resorts dotting the shore.
