Jet Airways wins Galileo Express Travelworld Award
Jet Airways, India’s premier international airline, was honoured with the 2008 Galileo Express TravelWorld ‘Best Domestic Full Service Airline’ award at a glittering function at the Grand Hotel, Delhi on December 10, 2008. This was the airline’s sixth consecutive victory in this category, in as many years.
The award was given away by Mr. Praful Patel, Minister of State for Civil Aviation (Independent Charge), at a glittering function before an august gathering of senior hoteliers, airline officials and other distinguished members of the travel trade community.
The Galileo Express TravelWorld Awards, incorporated in 2003, are among the most respected awards in the Indian travel and tourism industry.
The framework for these awards was put together by an expert panel from within the industry, with Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India Pvt. Ltd. (research partners to the award), overseeing the overall data collation, evaluation process and ensuring complete transparency.
Speaking on Jet Airways’ victory, Mr. Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, the airline’s CEO, said “Jet Airways is delighted to win the 2008 Galileo Express TravelWorld 'Best Domestic Full Service Airline' award for the sixth year running. In the recent past, Jet Airways has launched new services and enhanced frequencies on several domestic and international routes, and been honoured around the world for the excellence of various aspects of the airline's services. The Express TravelWorld award is a welcome addition to this growing list of honours.”
