Jeev's fourth title in Japan, 12th in career (List of wins)

New Delhi, Dec 7 (IANS) Jeev Milkha Singh won his fourth title of the season, and the second in Japan this year by clinching the Golf Nippon Series JT Cup here Sunday.

 

Earlier in the year, he won the Nagashima Shigeo Invitational Sega Sammy Cup.

 

 

Overall, this is Jeev's fourth win in Japan - two each having come in 2006 and 2008.

 

 

Jeev, who started the week ranked 44th in the world, is likely to come close to his career-high 37th, achieved at the end of 2006.

 

 

He is already assured of starts in all four Majors and World Golf Championships events in 2009.

 

 

This is the second time in three years that Jeev has won titles on three different Tours in the same year. The first was in 2006.

 

 

Jeev has now won 12 titles on official International Tours. He also has four other in Asia before the formation of the Asian Tour.

 

 

Jeev's win in 2008 have been Bank Austria GolfOpen on European Tour, the Nagashima Shigeo Invitational Sega Sammy Cup on Japan Tour and the Barclay's Singapore Open in Asian Tour. The latest is Golf Nippon Series JT Cup.

 

 

Jeev, who finished a career-high 12th on European Order of Merit, has already sealed the 2008 Asian Tour Order of Merit. He is also 15th on Japan Tour Money List, despite having played only four events.
