Coast guards intensify patrolling in Bay of Bengal

Paradeep (Orissa), Nov 30 (IANS) Coast guard personnel have intensified patrolling along the 484-km coastline off the Bay of Bengal in Orissa following terrorist attacks in Mumbai, a Coast Guard official said Sunday.

 

'The Coast Guard has deployed four ships and speed boats with modern equipment in the Bay of Bengal to guard the Indian sea,' commandant V.K. Varghese told IANS.

 

 

He said two ships 'Suchitra Krupalini' and 'Rama Devi' have been brought from Haladia port to Paradeep to assist the Coast Guard to monitor the coastline in Orissa.
