New Delhi, Nov 24 (IANS) The Delhi High Court Monday issued a notice to the police seeking explanation for not thoroughly probing the murder of Shalini Saxena, a call centre employee who was found dead here two months ago.
Justice Veena Birbal pulled up Delhi Police and asked why the case should not be transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as the police probe was not heading anywhere, and asked the police to reply by Dec 11.
The court was hearing a petition filed by Vijay Saxena, father of 25-year-old Shalini who was murdered Sep 10.
Shalini's body was found from her Gautam Nagar paying guest accommodation with a mobile charger cord tied around her neck.
The police have made no arrest so far.
'I am from Saharanpur but I have to come to Delhi every week (for police inquiry). I am tired of this uncertainty,' Vijay Saxena said in his petition.
'We are facing this when people are speculating about my daughter's character. I only want justice for her, so I want the case to be transferred to CBI,' he said.
