30 pm entered the MTV office in Mumbai and ransacked the workplace by smashing windows, furniture and computers, police said.
According to the protesters, the poster which portrayed a woman massaging a Sikh man – who peeped through a door - was to promote the reality show “On the Job2,” offended Sikhs. The city police then took action after getting official complaint from MTV India.
Deshmukh, the senior police inspector of Matunga police station said: "The poster has offended members of the Sikh community. They reached the office to ask MTV to pull down the hoardings but there was an argument which later led to stoning and destruction of property."
The police however released all 69 protestors on bail. But the music company should at least take some lesson from the incident in paying respect to the culture of the nation, especially in a multi-cultured country like India.
