CBSE results out: admission open in DU
The Thursday night was tense, if not horrible for a number of teens who appeared for their 12th CBSE exams this year. With the declaration of C.B.S.E. Results of 12th standard on Friday, May 23, lots of students are now able to breathe easily.
The results were declared at around 8 a.m. in Delhi, Ajmer, Chennai, Allahabad, Panchkula and Guwahati amongst which Chennai ranked first in the list of pass percentage with 91.39% students passed.
The overall pass percentage was 80.91%. Girls this time too, as usual, outstood boys with a pass percentage of 85.44% as against the comparatively much lesser percentage of boys which is 77.59%. As a whole, there is a marginal increase of 0.27% in the pass percentage from the last year.
The number of registered candidates was 549,344 which is 9.18% higher from last year. In Delhi alone 160,414 students appeared for the exams.
All over India, the number of students securing 90 above is 8,252 and 95 above is 384.The results can also be seen on the website www.cbseresults.nic.in . ICSE results have already been declared on Thursday, May 22.
For students seeking admission in Delhi University for under-graduate courses, common Pre-Admission forms along with the Information Bulletin 2008-09 will be available from June 2 to June 16, 2008. During the same duration only, the application for admission must be submitted. First cut-off list (admission list) will be announced and displayed by the colleges on Thursday, June 26, 2008 at 10:00 a.m.
