With the noble commitment to ensure every child to visit school, the Department of Education at the backdrop of observance of Education for All (EFA) week has launched a Special Admission Drive from April 24-30 to speeding the process.
Under The Bhagidari scheme involving citizen-government partnership all Non Government Organisations (NGOs), Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), Community Workers, Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) workers, individuals and others have been requested to voluntarily join the Department for this noble cause by helping children in nearby areas to get them enrolled in the nearest school.
Facilities provided in schools
The Government of Delhi has provided various facilities comprising Computer Education; Multimedia labs equipped with animated lessons, Science and Mathematics Labs, Joyful Learning Environment with initiatives such as Building As Learning Aid (BaLA) and YUVA life skills.
Besides, free textbooks, free uniform subsidy, mid day meal to all children up to Class VIII, stipend to children belonging to SC/STs and economically weaker sections, special incentive for Girls under Ladli scheme of Government of Delhi are also provided to the school children.

Schools to get admission
All recognised schools comprising Delhi Government, MCD, NDMC, Delhi Cantonment Board, Aided and Unaided recognised schools including economically weaker section (EWS) quota in some unaided schools.
The Education Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely also said all children from ICDS centres would be enrolled in MCD schools at the age appropriate level including pre-primary classes.

Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan
The goal of education to all under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SAA) is Government of India’s flagship programme for achievement of Universalisation of Elementary Education (UEE) in a limited period.
The SSA is being implemented in partnership with State Governments to cover the entire country with special focus on girl’s education and children with special needs.
The scheme is guided by the 86th amendment of the Constitution of India subjected to free and compulsory education to the children of 6-14 years age group as a fundamental right.
