Ramjas Inter-School table tennis tourney commences today

The fourth edition of the prestigious Ramjas inter-school and open ranking table tennis tournament organised by Ramjas Foundation, Anand Parbat will commence at the school's gymnasium hall here on Saturday.


The two-day event has attracted around 100 capital schools and 600 students who would battle it out to claim the top honours in their respective categories. The tournament will be played under the guidelines set by the Delhi Table Tennis Association (DTTA).

There will be a total of nine categories ranging from Tiny Tots Boys to Girls to Under-17 Boys and Girls besides Sub-junior singles (U-14), cadet singles (U-12) and Kids (U-10) in both boys and girls category.

Uniyal guides Malik Sports to Nehru Cricket final

Fine belligerent knock of 81 runs by Rajeev Uniyal, inclusive of eight boundaries and three sixes, alongwith Parvinder Singh (74) helped Malik Sports beat Abhay Ram Gymkhana by 151 runs to enter the final of the 31st All India Jawahar Lal Nehru memorial cricket tournament for Raj Kumar Kohli running trophy played at the Nehru Youth center ground.

Rajeev Uniyal was named Puma man of the match for his fine all-round display.

AR Gymkhana: 170 in 29.5 overs: (Naman Sharma 45, Kamal Nigam 40, Sahil Chaudhary 30, Joginder Singh 2/27, Rajeev Uniyal 2/29, Rahul Dagar 2/20.)

Ayush scalps five

Deadly bowling by medium pacer Ayush Kumar (5 for 29) and good knock by Navneet Singh (35 n.o.) guided Mohali Cricket Association (MCA) to beat LB Shastri club by 5 wickets to enter the quarterfinals of the 15th Shera Pandit memorial cricket tournament for SP trophy played at the Mohan Meakin ground.

Ayush was named MDH man of the match for his superb bowling performance.
