New Delhi, Oct 24 (IANS) In a daring daylight robbery in the capital's centre Connaught Place Friday, two motorcycle-borne men snatched RS.750,000 from an employee of a private company, the police said.

Naresh, 30, an employee of M. Tech Developers, was returning on foot to his office in Connaught Place at around 1 p.m. after withdrawing money from the Punjab National Bank and HDFC Bank, when two men on a motorcycle snatched the bag from him and fled from the scene, the police said.

The incident occurred at the traffic signal on the crowded Barakhamba Road.

'The robbers were not wearing helmets. I immediately raised an alarm and made a call to the police. It took them 10 minutes to reach me but they failed to find the culprits,' Naresh said.

The police suspect involvement of some insider in the incident.

'The victim has not seen the faces of the robbers but says they could be in the age group of 35 to 40. We are checking footage from the close circuit television camera (CCTV) installed at the traffic signal,' said a police official.

The police said that Naresh has been employed with M. Tech Developers for the past 11 years and has a good track record.
