New Delhi, Oct 14 (ANI): The Congress on Tuesday said that it is fully prepared to face elections and would highlight the party's achievements during election campaigns, following the Election Commission's announcement of polls in five states - Delhi, Mizoram, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan..
Congress spokesman Manish Tewari said, "We welcome the announcement. We are fully prepared and would go to the electorate with our achievements."
The polling in Delhi and Mizoram will be held on November 29 and in Madhya Pradesh on November 25. In Chhattisgarh, polling will be held in two phases on November 14 and 20 while polling will take place on December 4 in Rajasthan.
However, election schedule for Jammu and Kashmir, which is currently under Governor's Rule, was not decided.
"It is for the EC to decide whether the situation there is conducive or not," said Tiwari to a question on the EC's decision to skip assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, and added that the Congress was prepared for elections in the state. (ANI)
