Kher while announcing the plan for the acting school said, “During the filming of Bend it Like Beckham it became obvious to me that there was enormous potential to build much stronger links between UK and Indian cinema.”
“The huge success of the movie shows what happens when you combine UK and Indian artistic talent. This is a natural synergy which creates something special,” he added.
“I would like to see this UK and Europe school becomes the springboard to launch similar schools around the world,” the actor said.
He inspired millions when he said, “I came from a very small town in India, I had a working class family, the only thing that I had was to dream one day of making it big and some dreams do come true.”
Describing his journey as an actor he said though he had difficulties in beginning of his career but later he found the pace and training helped him a lot.
The course will commence from September this year from Ealing Institute of Media and Southall Business Centre. The duration will be for three months and each batch will consist of 60 students.
Indian actors who have marked their presence with diverse acting skills have been roped to teach in the academy including Urmila Matondkar, Tabu and Boman Irani and Anupam Kher himself.
