The government has announced to extend the winter session of Parliament by two days to discuss over three-four crucial issues including Lokpal Bill.
The decision to extend the session was taken at a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee today, Parliamentary Affair Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal informed today.
'The opposition was not agree to discuss over Lokpal bill in hurry, so government is extending the session on 27, 28 and 29 December so that a proper discussion could go on,' said Bansal.
'The much-awaited Lokpal Bill would be introduced on 27 December,' media sources reported.
The Prime Minister has given his nod yesterday and it will be introduced in the cabinet meeting today, reports stated.
The Union Cabinet meeting will be held today at 7:30 pm for discussing over Lokpal Bill.
Government had pledged Team Anna to pass the bill in this session.
Besides Lokpal Bill, the co-relative Whistle Blower Bill and Judicial Accountability Bill will also be discussed and passed then in both Houses, Bansal said.
'The Lokpal and Whistleblower Bills will be discussed together and the Judicial Accountability Bill will be discussed separately,' he cleared.
As per the new schedule, both houses of parliament will adjourn for Christmas holidays December 22 and re-convene Dec 27.
On the other hand, Team Anna is still firm on its decision to go for another hunger strike, if government presents and pass powerless lokpal bill, sources said.
