New Delhi, Nov 11 (ANI): Taking a dig at Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi, Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal welcomes him to campaign in upcoming state elections, as it would 'ensure Congress' defeat'.
"I personally welcome Rahul Gandhi to come to every assembly segment of Punjab because his track record is that whichever area he goes, he ensured defeat of the Congress Party," Badal told the media here.
He also urged the people to vote out the Congress party as it was ruining the country.
"We need to defeat the Congress Party. The Congress is ruining the country and everybody is fed up with the Congress. Even monks and spiritual leaders are fed up with it," added Badal.
Badal also alleged that the Central government had not acted against the perpetrators of 1984 communal violence against Sikh community as its leaders were involved in the massacre of innocent people.
"If you ask anybody in the country who was responsible for 1984 communal riots, everybody would name the Congress. If you ask a small child in Punjab that who organised the massacre of '84 they will name Sajjan Kumar, H K L Bhagat. But the Congress Party, which is running the government, is protecting them," he said.
Congress leaders such as H K L Bhagat, Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar were accused of orchestrating and organising the mobs for massacre of Sikhs in Delhi in which around 2000 persons were killed. (ANI)
