New Delhi, Oct 2 (IANS) Indian shuttlers had a good day at the office Thursday with three of them making it to the men's singles third round of the Bitburger Open at Saarbruecken in Germany.
Fourth seed Chetan Anand beat Germany's Sebastian Rduch 21-15, 21-14 in the second round while seventh seed Arvind Bhat got the better of Denmark's Martin Bille Larsen 21-15, 21-7.
Parupalli Kashyap encountered a slightly tough fight from local challenge Dieter Domke but prevailed 21-17, 21-19.
The only Indian player to bow out in the second round was Sourabh Verma, who went down to German Bjorn Joppien 6-21, 18-21.
In the women's singles, Aditi Mutatkar beat local challenger Mette Stahlberg 21-12, 21-8 to reach the second round.
In women's doubles though, the experienced pair of Jwala Gutta and Shruti Kurian lost to Johanna Goliszewski and Gitte Kohler of Germany 21-15, 21-18.
