Washington, Oct 19 (ANI): The man who has been ordered to stay away from terrified actress/singer Selena Gomez, has a history of stalking, according to authorities in his native Illinois.
The 'Wizards of Waverly Place' actress has been granted a restraining order against Thomas Brodnicki, after the 46-year-old allegedly told his psychiatrist that he was going to kill the star after having conversations with God about her.
Gomez and her lawyer Blair Berk claimed that Brodnicki was picked up for mental evaluation last month after he allegedly threatened to "scratch people's eyes out on the street".
According to the Los Angeles Times, he was arrested in 2003 on charges of stalking a waitress at a Des Plaines, Illinois restaurant, reports Contactmusic.
Brodnicki was eventually convicted in 2008 and sentenced to three years in prison, but after he was found unfit to stand trial in 2007, he was re-committed to a mental health facility.
According to reports, he was arrested again in 'Elk Grove Village', Illinois, just three months after his sentencing and was charged with cyber stalking a college student. (ANI)
