Washington, Sept 08 (ANI): Oscar-winning actress Reese Witherspoon suffered minor injuries after a car struck her while she was out for a morning jog in California on Wednesday.
Police told Entertainment Tonight that Witherspoon was running across an unmarked path in Santa Monica when she was hit by a car driven at 20mph by an 84-year-old woman.
The 35-year-old actress was taken to a local hospital for treatment, while the driver was cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a cross walk, Fox News reported.
Witherspoon's spokesperson later said in a statement that the actress "was not seriously injured and is resting comfortably at home". (ANI)
