London, Sept 4 (ANI): Former Spice Girl Mel C has named the top 10 singers starting from Janis Joplin to Kt Tunstall, who influenced her with their musical aura.
She kept Joplin at the top position calling her one the 'most distinctive' voices she ever heard, reports the Daily Mail.
At the second spot is Adele who according to Mel C made her fame 'on talent alone'. She kept Tina Tuner at third for her inspiring resilience.
The fourth spot was attributed to 'superb singer with great timing' Amy Winehouse, while at No.5 was the new would-be mum Beyonce for her ability to 'push boundaries'.
Whereas Dusty Springfield's 'powerful soul voice' earned her the sixth place in Mel C's list, No.7 was allotted to 'ultimate Bond theme artist' Shirley Bassey.
Annie Lennox with her androgynous image was put to No.8 with Madonna 'blowing Melanie away' to the ninth spot.
The last but not the least to feature in the list was Kt Tunstall, who according to Melanie is 'one of the few performers in this list who can strap on a guitar and stand there alone on stage and hold an audience's attention.' (ANI)
