Two children among four killed in Maharashtra accident

Aurangabad, Sep 27 (IANS) Two school children were among the four people killed when the vehicle they were travelling in collided head-on with a speeding truck near Aurangabad in Maharashtra Saturday afternoon, the police said.

 

Six children, two of them seriously, were injured in the accident.

 

 

According to investigating officer S. W. Bhople of Pachod police station, the occupants of the Bolero SUV were returning home to nearby Mandwa village after attending a parents-teachers association meeting in a school in Pachod.

 

 

At a junction on the Beed-Aurangabad, the vehicle crashed into a speeding truck coming from the opposite direction, around 1.30 p.m.

 

 

The dead have been identified as driver Mukesh Arun Nikam, 20, Ankita Abhay Pahade, 35, her son Ayush and nephew Yash Jitendra Pahade, both seven years old.

 

 

The injured children were rushed to Pachod hospital for treatment, Bhople said.
