The Fifth edition of the All India IAF Civilians Inter Command football tournament commenced on Monday with Western Air Command routing Southern Air Command 5-0 in the inaugural match of the championship played at the 412 Air Force Station Football ground here.

The Indian Air Force has taken a big leap by forming Air Force Civilian Sports Board, which was approved and budgeted by the Government.

In order to enhance the morale of the civilian workforce and further integrate them with their service counterparts, the Board is holding All India Inter Command Tournaments in other fields also.

It comprises an All India Cultural Programme by the Civilian employees and other sports championships such as Carom, Table Tennis, Volleyball and Chess.

The finals of the fortnight long tournament will be held on February 22, with the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal FH Major, as the Chief Guest.
